Sharing Our Stories, Saving Ourselves – Date To Be Announced Soon
I’m pleased to announce The Trauma & Grief Institute’s Transgenerational Trauma Retreat: Sharing Our Stories, Saving Ourselves in Bali, Indonesia. Its specific schedule will be announced soon.
Transgenerational trauma is transmitted from the first generation of trauma survivors to subsequent generations via post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) mechanisms. Psychic legacies in response to historical oppression and other traumatic events are often transmitted through unconscious attitudes and behaviors, creating destructive patterns that negatively affect individual functioning, overall well-being, relationships, and our ability to achieve collective impact in terms of addressing social disparities.
Scientific evidence has demonstrated that trauma from racism is transmitted across generations—regardless of race—because racism hurts EVERYONE.
